Despite all the benefits of dental implants, there is one downside: restorations aren’t typically fitted to implants for 3-6 months.
This is to enable osseointegration (bone-to-implant fusion) to take place. So, under normal circumstances, implants would be anchored into the jaw, and then a waiting period would ensue to ensure complete stability before your permanent dental crown was fitted.
However, when we use specially designed implants, our experienced team can safely place teeth on the same day in most cases.
Using a process known as All-on-4 or All-on-6, we can replace an entire arch of missing teeth using just 4-6 implants that support a full arch of replacement teeth. This technique is known as ‘immediate loading’ and is a game-changer for patients because they can leave that very same day with a brand-new smile.

Here’s How The Process Works
After you’ve been given the go-ahead following a clinical evaluation, our dentist will determine where to place the implants to maintain optimum stability. This is done using an exact 3D image of your jaw. The scan also outlines the position of any sinuses and nerves.
When the time comes for surgery, pilot holes are drilled directly through the gum and into the jaw, thus negating the need to open up the gum. Then, 4 or 6 specially adapted implants are placed, depending on whether the top or bottom jaw needs rehabilitation. Once the implants are in position, our dentist will fit your temporary teeth at the same time to complete the smile.
Finally, after several weeks, when the implants are fully stable, the temporary teeth are removed, and your permanent arch is fitted. Now it’s time to wear your new smile with confidence.

FAQs
1. Why Same-Day Implants?
For edentulous patients – those who are missing entire rows of teeth- it isn’t cost-effective for every tooth gap to be replaced using a single dental implant or even multi-tooth implants. With the All-on-4 or All-on-6 process, four to six specially designed implants can safely support an entire arch of restoration teeth.
The process allows patients to enjoy a stable and secure bite from day one, and for many people, particularly those who have been used to wearing dentures, the results can be life-changing.
